What is it? What can it mean? All those weird symbols... Well, these are some examples of how third grade students have ended the story of Fat Cat. This decoding activity had students working to figure out symbols of the Nurtz alphabet. Each symbol represents a letter in our alphabet. The final activity was to finish the story - using the Nurtz alphabet! There was only one clue, btw, ask them about it!
This is a story about Fat Cat. Third graders began our latest work with this single clue as to the code used for Fat Cat's story. The story, however, was not complete until students used the code (with their own creativity and art work) to craft an ending. Here are a couple of examples. Check 'em out!
