Team M Wins Great Ocean Rescue

Our fifth grade ESG classes have finally ALL completed the Great Ocean Rescue. In this work, the Monday team - dreadfully set back by many missed days (weather, workdays, holidays...) - finally completed their fourth and final mission today - and WON!

I'll publish final results for all in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy this impromptu celebration! Congrats to all three teams, too!

What is it? What can it mean? All those weird symbols... Well, these are some examples of how third grade students have ended the story of Fat Cat. This decoding activity had students working to figure out symbols of the Nurtz alphabet. Each symbol represents a letter in our alphabet. Bear Story from 5th Grade

Our fifth grade students have started working with Vocabulary Workshop - a great resource for new, exciting words. Working with the Antinori/Dunkel block, I'll be making extra writing assignments for AIG reading students. Our first story was about bears - appropriate with all the local sightings. I asked students to write their own bear story, here's a good one! MY BEAR STORY  (THIS IS COMPLETELY TRUE!) So one nice sunny Saturday, me and my mom had just had a little scuffle about who knows what.
