Shout Out to Safety Patrol

I had to send a Shout Out to all the fantastic kids that come out to help with Safety Patrol. Even when it's 40-something with a howling wind! These are some great kids! Mr. O was risking life and limb in the street, so didn't get a snap of him. But, I will!!

This decoding activity had students working to figure out symbols of the Nurtz alphabet. Each symbol represents a letter in our alphabet. Bear Story from 5th Grade

Our fifth grade students have started working with Vocabulary Workshop - a great resource for new, exciting words. Working with the Antinori/Dunkel block, I'll be making extra writing assignments for AIG reading students. Our first story was about bears - appropriate with all the local sightings. I asked students to write their own bear story, here's a good one! MY BEAR STORY  (THIS IS COMPLETELY TRUE!) So one nice sunny Saturday, me and my mom had just had a little scuffle about who knows what.
